Welcome to SHIVA Membership

Shiva Membership is a place we created for you if you want to have everything you need for your violin journey in one place.

Inside the membership, you will find more than 50 of our original arrangements written for two violins.

You will also get our Shiva Performance Editions of works by various composers. These editions include the fingerings, bowings and markings we use when performing these pieces and teaching them to our students.

In one place, you will have access to all the sheet music you may need throughout your violin journey. And the membership will continue to grow over time as we regularly add new sheet music and resources.

What also matters to us is that when we give you the sheet music, we don’t want to leave you alone with it. We also want to give you our knowledge and support in understanding, practising and performing it.

We know what it feels like to reach a passage and not know how to approach it. You may be using a certain fingering without even realising that a better option exists, one that could make the entire process much easier. Perhaps you are unsure about a dynamic marking, or you keep getting stuck on the same section and begin to feel frustrated.

These unresolved details can hold back your progress, leaving you with the feeling that you are improving very slowly or not improving at all. The truth is that we cannot always solve everything on our own.

That is why Shiva Membership gives you more than sheet music.

You will also receive our support with your practising through video lessons and guidance added to the platform daily.

Every month, the membership includes four live mentoring calls during which we will mentor you directly and answer your questions. Ivana will work with intermediate violinists, while Sho will mentor advanced violinists.

You will also gain access to our private Telegram group, where you can receive our support and connect with other violinists working at a similar level.

This gives you the guidance, knowledge and community you need to keep progressing with confidence, knowing that you are moving in the right direction instead of unknowingly holding yourself back or remaining stuck in the same place.

We want you to feel supported throughout the entire process.

Meet Ivana & Sho

The violinists behind SHIVA Beyond Sound

Ivana Duvnjak Akamatsu is a Croatian violinist, soprano and experienced violin teacher. She graduated in violin from the Academy of Music in Zagreb and continued her training in Vienna with Prof. Leonid Sorokov. Throughout her career, she has performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles in Croatia and abroad, both as a violinist and soloist.

Teaching has always been an important part of her musical life. Through SHIVA Membership, Ivana works primarily with intermediate violinists, helping them build strong foundations, develop confidence and find practical solutions to the challenges they encounter in their playing.

Sho Akamatsu is a Japanese-Croatian violinist who studied at the Academy of Music in Zagreb and continued his advanced training in Vienna with Prof. Leonid Sorokov. He has won prizes at national and international competitions and has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician throughout Croatia and Europe.

He is a member of the Zagreb Philharmonic, where he leads the second violin section, and is one of the founders of SHIVA Beyond Sound. Through SHIVA Membership, Sho works primarily with advanced violinists, sharing his experience in performance, technique, interpretation and professional　level preparation.

Why We Created SHIVA Membership

We created Shiva Membership because of a strong desire we have felt for a long time, to support violinists throughout their journey of growth. We wanted to create a place where we can learn, practise, support one another and enjoy the entire process together. This is what many violinists are missing most, the feeling of knowing that you are on the right path, that you are progressing and that you are using the potential you know exists within you. When you know deep down that you are not reaching your full potential and that you are losing time searching for the right direction, frustration naturally follows.

Something equally important to us is helping you become the person capable of growing into an excellent violinist. This requires much more than practising alone. You need to develop consistency and remain committed to yourself even when things become difficult. This is what we want to help you build. It is also the path we have walked ourselves, because when motivation disappears, consistency becomes even more important. Very few people develop that kind of perseverance, and this is exactly what we want to help you create within yourself.

How Does the Membership Work?

Shiva Membership is not designed as a place you enter once, receive everything and then leave. From month to month, you will continue receiving new Shiva Original Arrangements, Shiva Performance Editions, performance videos, videos explaining how to practise specific pieces, mentoring support and motivation.

How do our original arrangements become available inside the membership?

As soon as you join, you immediately receive ten of our arrangements. This includes the complete Student Concertos for Two Violins book, containing four concertos arranged for two violins, and six arrangements from our Vivaldi Four Seasons for Two Violins collection.

As you continue your membership, new arrangements will be unlocked every month. Each month, two or three additional books will be added to your account. After six months of membership, you will have access to all 50 of our original arrangements. Every new arrangement we create in the future will also continue to be added to the platform.

Your Membership Journey

This is the order in which our original arrangements will be unlocked. And after Month 6, SHIVA Membership will continue to grow with new music and resources.
