About the course
This SHIVA arrangement brings the intense heat, dramatic contrasts and powerful energy of Vivaldi’s Summer from The Four Seasons to two violins, giving you the opportunity to experience this extraordinary music together. Play it with your teacher, your student, or a friend. The two violin parts allow you to explore the changing moods, rhythmic energy and dramatic character of Summer while experiencing the excitement of making music together. Playing together also develops important musical skills such as listening, ensemble balance, articulation and phrasing. You learn to respond to another player, feel the harmony and rhythm, stay connected through contrasting passages, and shape the music as a team — all essential elements of chamber music. This arrangement is designed for intermediate to advanced violinists and works well for lessons, duo practice, recitals and concert repertoire.
