About the course
This SHIVA arrangement brings the expressive beauty, excitement and virtuosic character of Vittorio Monti’s famous Czárdás to two violins. From its expressive, lyrical moments to its lively and energetic passages, Czárdás offers a wonderful opportunity to explore contrasting musical characters while enjoying the experience of playing together. Play it with your teacher, your student, or a friend. The two violin parts create a musical dialogue that encourages you to listen, respond and shape the music together rather than simply focusing on your own part. Playing together also develops important musical skills such as listening, ensemble balance, articulation, phrasing and musical communication. The contrasting sections of Czárdás give you the opportunity to explore both expressive freedom and rhythmic precision as a duo. This arrangement is suitable for intermediate to advanced violinists and works well for lessons, duo practice, chamber music, recitals, concerts and special events. Our goal is not simply to give you sheet music and leave you to practice alone. We want to explore the music together with you — helping you practice with greater confidence, listen more deeply and enjoy developing as a musician through playing with others. Play together. Listen together. Learn together. Enjoy the music.
