Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Queen of the Night Aria from The Magic Flute ARRANGED FOR TWO VIOLINS

About the course

This SHIVA arrangement brings the brilliance, drama and excitement of Mozart’s famous Queen of the Night Aria from The Magic Flute to two violins. Known for its striking melodies and powerful dramatic character, this iconic aria takes on a new life as a violin duet, giving two players the opportunity to explore Mozart’s music together. Play it with your teacher, your student, or a friend. The two violin parts create a musical dialogue that encourages you to listen, respond and shape the music together, while experiencing the energy and theatrical character of the original aria. Playing together also develops important musical skills such as listening, ensemble balance, rhythmic precision, articulation, phrasing and musical communication. The dramatic contrasts and brilliant musical writing make this arrangement both an exciting challenge and a rewarding addition to your violin duo repertoire. It works beautifully for lessons, duet practice, recitals, concerts, competitions, or simply enjoying Mozart’s music together. And this is only the beginning. As part of the SHIVA Sheet Music Academy, this course can continue to grow with practice ideas, technical tips, musical guidance, videos and other learning resources. Our goal is not simply to give you sheet music and leave you to practice alone. We want to explore Mozart’s music together with you — helping you understand its dramatic character, practice with greater awareness, listen more deeply and enjoy making music with others.
